The blackberry season spans the end of summer and the beginning of autumn. These berries are great used in Autumn puddings made by combining blackberries with the first apples of the season. Try them in this delicious crumble and serve with lashings of homemade custard!
50g caster sugar
juice & zest of lemon
75g soft brown sugar
175g plain flour
To make the crumble, rub the butter into flour, and stir in the sugar. Place the blackberries into a baking dish, sprinkle over the sugar, lemon juice & zest. Top with the crumble and bake for about 20 minutes until bubbling and golden brown.
