Homemade pizza tastes better than shop bought, and if you've got kids, they will enjoy helping to make it and eat it! Pizza is so adaptable, you can add any topping you wish. Great way of using up any veggies and herbs.

~ PIZZA DOUGH ~
Makes enough for 2 large 14in pizzas

Oven temp - gas 7/ 220'C

350g /12oz strong plain flour, plus extra for kneading
1/2 teaspoon salt
7g packet fast action yeast
250ml / 8fl oz warm water
2 tablespoons olive oil

Mix flour, salt & yeast in a bowl, stir in the water and oil to make a moist dough.
Put onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic. Put the dough into an oiled bowl, cover with clear film or a cloth, and leave in a warm place to prove (rise) for 30 minutes.

TIP ~ You can freeze the dough at this stage, then defrost a couple of hours before rolling.

~ MAKING THE PIZZA BASES ~

Roll out the dough on to a floured surface and roll into rounds. put onto a baking tray and make a 'lip' on the edge of the dough to create a crust.

BASES ~ Use a tomoto base on the pizza. Using fresh tomatoes, chopped, or drain a tin of tomatoes, and finely chop.

~ TOPPINGS ~

Now, top with any topping you fancy. Sprinkle over mozzerella cheese or cheddar. Bake in a hot oven for about 15 to 20 minutes, until hot and the cheese is bubbling.

Tip~ make sure your oven is really hot before baking to make sure your pizza gets really crispy. Its a good idea to preheat your baking trays and dust with a little flour too.
